Why I Am Seeking The Democratic Party’s Nomination In Colorado’s 5th Congressional District
I believe in the inherent virtue of the classic American ideals of truth, liberty, equality under the law, justice for all, and a shared dedication to civic engagement and public service.
We live in cynical times, but nothing of note is ever accomplished by cynics. America is, at its core, a place for optimists and dreamers.
At our best, Americans have historically rallied around our founding principles to solve our biggest problems and serve as a powerful example to the world.
Every two years we have the opportunity to reject cynical anti-democratic extremism and rededicate our hearts and minds to the ideals that define our better selves.
And that’s why I’m running to be the Democratic Party’s nominee in our district.
The people of Colorado’s 5th Congressional District deserve a Representative that views public service as a higher calling and a sacred trust.
The people of Colorado’s 5th Congressional District deserve a Representative that is committed to making decisions based on truth and facts instead of paranoid conspiracy and delusions.
The people of Colorado’s 5th Congressional District deserve a Representative that will put the good of the people above all other considerations.
The people of Colorado’s 5th Congressional District deserve better than Doug Lamborn.
Republicans like Doug Lamborn want us to believe that our democratically-elected government is inherently bad. This is a fundamentally flawed and anti-American point of view.
After all, how can American government be inherently bad when it is literally a government of the people, by the people, for the people?
The truth is our government is a reflection of ourselves. What it does, it does with our consent and in our name.
I believe that we can do better. Working together — for each other — there is nothing we can’t accomplish.
Let’s get started.
